Heating with gas – always a clean affair

By using a condensing boiler to convert natural gas into heat, you are making an active
contribution towards protecting the climate and the environment, thanks to the boiler's
unbeatably high efficiency of 98 percent.

Our gas condensing boilers come with the future built in. Thanks to the Lambda Pro Control
combustion controller, our gas condensing boilers adjust automatically to all gas types –
including biogas mixtures. As a result we are able to meet the many varied demands made
of heating equipment across our product range – to protect our finite resources.

The fact that no fuel needs to be stored is also an argument in favour of a gas heating
system – especially if you want to use that space for other purposes.

You can even use free solar energy as part of your new heating system. All boilers are
designed for combination with Viessmann solar technology. Viessmann system technology
guarantees that everything will fit together beautifully and work in harmony, putting you in
control and meeting your every demand.

Viessmann gas heating systems are characterized by their extremely compact design and their highly efficient operation thanks to condensing technology. It is not without reason that gas heating is the most commonly installed heating system. Two-thirds of all heat generators used in Germany operate with natural gas, according to the results of a study commissioned at the end of 2015 by the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW). (BDEW) at the end of 2015.

Owners of single-, two- and small multi-family homes in particular benefit from the wide range of products Viessmann offers in the residential sector. Regardless of whether they opt for a compact gas condensing boiler or a floorstanding gas boiler with solar heat exchanger: With rated heat outputs of up to 80 kW, heating requirements can be met efficiently and reliably at all times with Viessmann gas boilers.

Detailed information on gas condensing boilers is provided in the section on gas heating with condensing technology. Anyone interested in the proven calorific value technology in the output range from 405 to 2000 kW will find all the important information in the section on gas low-temperature boilers.

Gas heating - efficient resource with condensing technology.

Condensing boilers extract almost all of the heat contained in the flue gases and convert it into additional heating energy. To do this, Viessmann condensing boilers are equipped with stainless steel Inox-Radial heat exchangers, which cool the flue gases before they are routed into the chimney, to the extent that the water vapour contained in these gases is deliberately condensed, and the additional heat released is transferred into the heating system.

The stainless steel Inox-Radial heat exchanger combined with the MatriX gas burner ensure high energy efficiency and a high level of heating convenience for the long term. Furthermore, this technology reduces heating bills and effectively minimises emissions.

Gas heating with condensing technology

Viessmann gas boilers with condensing technology convert up to 98 percent of the energy used into heat. Most heating systems without condensing technology, for example low-temperature gas boilers, manage around 87 percent under the same conditions.

And this is how condensing technology works: additional heat is extracted from the exhaust gas by condensing the water vapor it contains. This is possible, among other things, with the Inox-Radial heat exchanger developed by Viessmann and installed in wall-mounted gas boilers. The heat recovered in this way is then fed back into the heating system. This increases efficiency, lowers heating costs and reduces environmental impact. How the process looks in detail and which components play a role is explained in the section How gas condensing technology works.

Future-proof heating technology conserves resources

Viessmann has already built the future into its gas appliances: Thanks to combustion control, the gas condensing boilers automatically adjust to different types of gas - including biogas admixture. In this way, the heating systems sustainably meet the requirements for resource-saving heating technologies. Another argument for choosing a gas heating system is that energy does not have to be stored in the house. All that is needed to operate a gas heating system is a gas connection. The compact gas condensing boilers, for example, are space-saving and can be installed quickly and easily in the utility room or basement. From there, they reliably supply all rooms with the necessary heat.

A gas heating system can be optimally combined with a solar thermal system.

Gas heating with solar technology uses free solar energy

Every new gas heating system today should also be combined with solar collectors to use free solar energy. This reduces heating costs in the long term and also protects the environment. In this bivalent operation, the solar technology takes over the preparation of the hot water and can almost completely replace the actual heating system on some days. If peak loads occur, the existing gas heating system is simply switched on. In this way, the heat demand is always covered - and extremely cleanly and efficiently. All Viessmann boilers are already designed for bivalent operation with solar technology.

Viessmann system technology guarantees the optimum interaction of all components, right through to convenient control - also via app over the internet, which leaves nothing to be desired.
