The Vitosol 111-F solar panel is a (factory made) natural circulation solar thermal system with flat-plate solar panels and a highly insulated steel cylinder for outdoor use, ensuring efficient domestic hot water production.
How does a natural circulation solar panel work?
A solar panel is filled with an antifreeze fluid to transport heat from the panel to the cylinder. The panel absorbs solar radiation and heats the fluid, which expands and circulates naturally to the cavity of the cylinder. Here, heat is transferred to the sanitary side and the cooled fluid flows back to the lower part of the panel.
In a naturally circulating solar thermal panel, this cycle occurs spontaneously; no circulation pump is used, and consequently there is no electricity consumption.
